Engagements & Weddings

Please complete the form (below) to provide information regarding the announcement to be considered for inclusion in the Social Register Observer as follows:

Name: Your name as it appears in the Social Register.

Email: Your email address.

Subject: State whether it is an engagement or a wedding announcement.

 

Body:  Please provide as much information as possible

  • Full name of the bride/groom/partner.

  • Full name & address of both parents, including the maiden names of both the bride's and the groom's mothers. If deceased, please note which relative has passed, and include their last city/state of residence. If divorced please also note this. All of this information is required as it is included in every wedding write-up. 

  • Full name & address of both grandparents, including the maiden names of both the bride's and the groom's grandmothers. If deceased, please note which relative has passed, and include their last city/state of residence. If divorced please also note this.

  • Step-parents or step-grandparents (including first and maiden name).

  • Bride's schools (include year of graduation).

  • Groom's schools (include year of graduation).

  • Date & location of the wedding ceremony.

  • Address & telephone number of the couple.

  • Honeymoon location, if one is/was taken.

  • We encourage details from the wedding day/weekend (i.e. about the dress, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, etc.).

Birth Announcements

Subject: State that it is a birth
 
Body:  Please provide as much information as possible and include the following:

  • Full name and address of parents 

  • Full name of the child (including gender)

  • Date and location of birth

Debutante Announcement

Please complete the form at the foot of the page to be considered for inclusion in the Social Register Observer.


Fill in the blanks as follows:

Name: Your name as it appears in the Social Register.
Email: Your email address.
Subject: State that it is a debutante announcement.
Body:  Please provide as much information as possible and include the following:

  • Full name & address of parents

  • Full name of the debutante

  • Date and Location of the debut

Obituary/Death Notice
Name: Your name as it appears in the Social Register.
Email: Your email address.
Subject: Obituary: [insert full name of deceased]

Body: Please include the following:
  • Full name of deceased

  • Last address of deceased

  • Date and Location of death

The obituary will be recorded in the "Notices" section of the Social Register.

 

Should you wish to provide a written obituary for possible inclusion in the Observer, please copy + paste it into the "Message" field of the email form or send it as an attachment to an email 



Photographic Requirements

​PLEASE NOTE: All images should comply with the following guidelines:



Photographs can be either mailed (see "Writing to the Association") or e-mailed. When emailing,  please include the image as an attachment. E-mailed photographs should be at least 1 MB in size, and the photographer's name should be included.  


If you choose to mail a photograph to the Association, it should be at least 4" x 6" in size.  Photographs may be in color (preferably), or black & white (Debutant).


Brides-to-be and debutantes may be photographed alone or with a parent/chaperone. The subject's name as well as that of the photographer should be printed clearly on the back of the photograph. Please indicate if you wish to have the print returned. 

*Please note that since items appearing in the Observer are time-sensitive, materials should be submitted as soon as possible after the event if they are to be considered for inclusion.
