The mission of the Social Register Foundation is to preserve and catalog family records going back to 1886 and earlier. The SR currently possesses an archive of over 3.5 million pages of handwritten family records, letters, artifacts, publications, photographs, and ephemera. These SR records are considered a uniquely important legacy for American genealogical studies, family histories, and other scholarly and cultural endeavors. Our commitment is to incorporate this heritage into museum-quality exhibits, interactive digital platforms, lectures, and books on this growing collection of history to illuminate the historical importance of the Social Register Association and its historic families who contributed to the founding and development of the United States. The Social Register Foundation is dedicated to digitizing its invaluable archives and continuing its critical work in preserving family, individual, and cultural histories. We seek the donation of a townhouse or estate to house these unique records and serve as a research center for scholars worldwide, as well as a gathering spot for old and new members alike. Bridging past legacies with present engagements thereby ensures that the inspirational stories and connections of generations remain accessible and continue to thrive.
