Hilary Helene Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Miller (Janet R. Henning) of Charlottesville, VA, and Scarborough, ME, was married on June 25, 2016, to Philip Andrew Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond D. Thompson (Diane Cuthbertson) of Old Lyme, CT. The ceremony and reception took place at Ram Island Farm in Cape Elizabeth, ME.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Henning (Lucy Rauch) of Jupiter, FL. She is also the granddaughter of Mrs. John N. Miller (Margaret Suzanne Sturgis) of Coral Gables, FL, and the late Mr. Miller of Miami, FL.
The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Harry K. Cuthbertson (Ann Crossley) of Essex, CT, and the late Mr. Cuthbertson of Arlington, VA. He is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Frank M. Thompson (Helen Day) of Columbia City, IN, and Los Gatos, CA.
The couple kicked off a long weekend of wedding festivities on a Thursday evening, hosting their wedding party, family, and guests who arrived in town early on a sunset cruise around Portland Harbor aboard Wendameen, an 88-foot schooner designed by John Alden. Built in East Boothbay, ME, it was launched in 1912. They returned to dry land, and lobster rolls and live music, at Portland Lobster Co. The following night, a rehearsal dinner was held at the Prouts Neck Yacht Club for the wedding party and immediate family. Other guests enjoyed a welcome barbeque at the Prouts Neck Country Club; once the rehearsal dinner adjourned, the wedding party and family joined everyone at the country club for live music by the couple’s favorite local band, The Mosquitos.
Mrs. Thompson attended The Hill School and is a graduate of the University of Richmond. Mr. Thompson attended The Taft School and graduated from Gettysburg College.
The couple sailed a Sabre 362 up the Maine coast on their wedding trip, and currently make their home in New York.
