On May 17, 2014, Inslee Austin Dietrich Haynes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Haynes Jr. (Dietrich—Nancy C. Bennett) of Leesburg, VA, was married to Buford Anderson Fariss II, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Marcus Fariss (Julia Lorenz White) of High Point, NC. The ceremony took place at Christ Church, Georgetown, Washington, DC. The reception was held at the Chevy Chase Club, Chevy Chase, MD. Mrs. Odon F. W. von Werssowetz (Mary Radford Wyatt) of Charlotte, NC, whose marriage appeared in the Winter 2014 Social Register Observer, attended the bride as matron of honor.



Mrs. Fariss is the daughter of the late Ronald M. Dietrich and the adopted daughter of Mr. Haynes. She is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Marion W. Bennett (Marion Woolhiser) of Pasadena, CA, and Leesburg, and the late Robert C. Bennett Jr. of Naples, FL. She is also the granddaughter of Mrs. J. Marvin Haynes (Marion Dunlop) of Ponte Vedra, FL, and the late Mr. Haynes of Washington, DC, and Cleburne, TX, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Emil Dietrich (Bertha Fritzen) of Hammond, IN.



​Mr. Fariss is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz T. White Jr. (Bettie F. Freeman) of Raleigh, NC, and Mrs. Frank A. Fariss (Laura McG. Holland) of Bedford, VA, and the late Mr. Fariss.



The bride attended Notre Dame Academy and graduated from Washington and Lee University. The groom attended Woodberry Forrest School and also graduated from Washington and Lee University.

 

The couple took a wedding trip to Corsica, France. They currently reside in New York.
